Potato heartburn

Yesterday I told Kurt that I had a potato for lunch and I STILL got heartburn. He wasn’t fazed by this at all until this morning when he saw me baking to small-ish potatoes for today’s lunch. “You really got heartburn from potatoes?” Yep. “What else did you put on it?” Salt and some lime (I realize this may sound gross to most Americans but you eat corn beef hash, so you really don’t have a leg to stand on). I also got heartburn from eating a single banana. – Banana’s, you know, one of the first bland solid foods you give a BABY! Kurt couldn’t believe it. “Damn, you’re bland!” Yep, it doesn’t get much worse than that. We’ve come to the conclusion that because my stomach isn’t growing out as much as other women Sophia must be pushing all my insides aside and I just don’t have room for food.

I’ll tell you what Sophia you push my belly out to make room for yourself so that mommy can eat for the both of us; just don’t give me stretch marks. Listen to me; I’m playing lets make a deal with a fetus!

I had terrible heartburn with my first two. Water gave me heartburn. I drank tons of milk and ate tons of tums. Now I wouldn’t drink a glass of milk for money. You have my complete and total empathy. It will totally go away once you give birth.

Yeah I’ve had the problem with water too! I was just telling a friend the yesterday, She had suggested that maybe it was the lime I put on my potato (maybe too acidic), and I told her, “No I really just think there is very little room for food in there. A coworker and I go for a walk on our afternoon break and since I now get overheated I drink water when I get back (yep pregnancy changes it all! :p ). Yesterday I asked my coworker if it’s actually possible to get heartburn from water. - seriously - water!!! Damn amoebas!”

Her reply was, “Water?!!! Holy balls!” hahaha

Hey Erica! First I wanted to say thanks for stopping by Huma B~ Post and commenting! I really appreciate it! Congrats on the baby! That is SO exciting! Also I think a lime on your potatoe sounds kind of yummy! May have to try it! I know that drinking milk before you eat might help, just to coat your stomach! Heartburn is the worst! It is just so miserable! Well, good luck friend and take care of yourself and little Sophia!

OO mama .. I was a walking heartburn case w/ my most recent. Everything from water, to bananas, to crackers - whatever it was, I swear it just sat in my chest/neck area and made me feel like I was on the verge.. well you get it. You’ll have to ask your OB but I used just a pinch of ginger root in chamomile tea and it seemed to supress it a bit. Maybe that will help you. Eitherway - glad I found you .. look forward to hearing your wonderful news!!!
