Baby giggles

Sophia laughed for the first time today. I’ve heard her laugh in her sleep a couple of times, but this is the first time she did it awake. I was singing the little nursery rhyme “patty-cake” to her. Anyone that has heard my singing-like attempts knows why she started laughing. The little shit. I know I know, it’s a nursery rhyme and not a song. You see, that’s just how bad it really is, and I can’t ever remember the words to anything! Kurt SHUT UP!

  1. That’s okay…kids don’t care about the words until they get older anyway (think Penn & Teller’s BS “I LOVE YOU DOG), so you can sing whatever lyrics you want (think my mom).

And bonus: you have dogs, so if they start howling, then it’s time to stop your “musical recitation”. :D

I can’t wait to hear her laugh!

  2. I remember telling my mother that she sings pretty once when I was little. I believed it at the time. She was so happy that I said that, I thought it was kind of weird. I asked why she didn’t sing more, and she told me my dad didn’t like her singing… I thought that was kind of weird, too. Then I grew up and learned that my mother is tone deaf. I wonder what I was thinking when I told her she sang pretty. (I guess I’m a little shit, too.)
