She’s like People
Today I took Kurt out to an Indian restaurant for Father’s day dinner. The child, our darling bouncing baby girl who, for the longest time wouldn’t drink from a bottle or a tippy cup, and still refuses to do so with me, insisted on drinking from the water glass at the table. She kept reaching for the glass repeatedly. Finally, Kurt pick up the glass and brought it towards her and she actually leaned in to try to drink from it, so Kurt put the glass up to her mouth and then she bit it. I could hear her try to chew the glass with her one tooth clanking against it. It was like fingernails on a chalkboard for me, but that didn’t stop her. She took several sips, most of which landed in Kurt’s lap. She also took two bites from the Kabuli Nan – we made sure there weren’t any raisins that would cause her to choke.
I was supposed to be eating while Kurt entertained the child that was tired of sitting in the designated grimy germ infested baby chair, but I was so taken by her suddenly being all-adult like that I just watched like an idiot. As if she wasn’t ever going to evolve from a crying shitting blob to an interactive little person that eats real people food.

I still am amazed at their people like behaviors. The first thing I really noticed with Gavin was when he rubbed his eyes. How did he know to do that? I think I said something similar to you “He’s like a real person!” I bet Sophia was adorable being like a people

smarmoofus - I know! Who would have thought that she would turn into a little person of all things!
Sarah - Me too! I’m actually still amazed that the hospital let me take her home with me.
And I think she’s adorable even when she’s being a snot face - she’s my snot face.
