Butt Scooting Baby

My baby scoots her butt on the floor like a dog! Actually, I haven’t seen her do it. All I know is that on Friday, I was at my computer and I put her on the floor at one end of the room with the boppy pillow behind her. Not that she really needs it, but just in case she decides to flop backwards, it’s there. The next thing I knew she has moved from that end of the room, over there. *points away from herself as if you can see* And she was sitting right next to me looking up with her big green eyes as if to say, “Momma I’m hungry.” I know she’s not crawling. She does sleep on her side or tummy from time to time and will occasionally be sitting up in her crib when I come to get her. I know she could physically crawl, but she’s not quite there yet. She’s butt scootin’ and I know it.

Sounds like your little one is very resourceful. My guess is that crawling is in the near future. My little one used to crawl, but only push with one leg for a while. She eventually got that she went quicker if she moved both legs.

And so it begins… she’s mobile now, and you’re in trouble! *giggle*

Oh, now she´ll be getting into everything! My oldest did the butt scooting thing for the longest time. I thought he´d never crawl. Then he started crawling finally and about two weeks later moved right on to walking. :S

That’s really funny!! You’re in for it now – time to break out the baby gates! Before you know it, she’ll be climbing over stuff to get to you! What fun!

haha “resourceful”, yeah, remind me not to leave MacGyver baby alone with chewing gum and a bicycle tube. :P I really don’t know if she’ll crawl. I know many parents say this, but I’m convinced she’s going to skip that step and go directly to walking.

Expat Mom -Isn’t it funny to leave them sitting up at one end of a room then look down a couple minutes later. There they are, looking up, right next to you – Still sitting. Cracks me up! ;-)

Mommwizdom – I know. I need to invest in a velco room and velco baby onesie, so I can set her some place and she’ll still be there when I get back. :P
