Susan Anderson - Sorry it's taken me so long to comment on this. I meant to comment a while ago and then forgot what post it was on.

Our pediatrician just gives us a hand out from a website he subscribes to. I forgot the url, but it's a paid subscription site. It gives some guidelines like at the two-month check up it said something like, "If you're breastfeeding now would be a good time to start pumping milk so that others may feed the baby and give you a break." - That wasn't really exact wording, but that's the sort of gentle reminders/hints that we get. No pressure. My only pressure is other people asking, "So is she talking yet? How about now?" Well, actually I do feel some pressure when the nurse goes through her list of milestones and I feel like I'm saying, "No, not yet" to almost everything. But her answer is, well that will happen soon. I guess Sophia lands in the middle, so all is well.

I'm glad she likes her soap and Yay! for walking across the room ;-)

We've tried everything *sob* I don't mind if she drips all over, we have pets so I've given up on having perfect carpets. She just refuses. Gerber, Nuby, Playtex, etc, all for nought. She does like carrying it around when the pressure is off. As for the 15 month rule, my pediatricians are just Nazi's in disguise hell bent on making any enjoyable Chloe moment into "homework". I could go on and tell you about their demand for forced tummy time when she was two months old, but I'll save stories of a baby crying for a half hour straight for another time :)
On a lighter note she walked across the room yesterday! I don't think she knows what she did or she would be running all over and away from her parents if she could (or after the poor dog). Take that sippy cup.
She loves her soap, but I think mommy likes it more ;)

Susan Anderson - I haven't heard the 15 month rule on bottles. *fret* Why 15 months? Have you tried just giving her the sippy cup to play with? Just a thought. Or remove the flap that regulates the flow to just one direction and feed her like it's a bottle. Or just turn her loose with it like that, but make sure you don't mind whatever liquid getting allover.

How does she like the soap?

Sarah - Sophia puts things in my hand too. As a matter a fact she'll even grab my hand and turn it palm up in order to give me things that she promptly takes back. She's so funny. ;-) I know it goes fast and I'm afraid of forgetting it all, that's why I blog. ;-)

Jamie Simmerman - We keep the lid down at our house, and because she likes to open cupboard doors and play with the wastebasket we keep the bathroom door closed as well - double protected there! ;-) I'd hate to have to fish things out of the toilet! I guess I'm lucky there, for now.

Tried the sippy cup again today with her morning milk. Figured, hey, she's hungry so she'll drink it right? Wrong. Said Sippy cup was thrown at mommy, the dog, and the sofa with excessive amounts of howling. I gave in and put it in a bottle and she sucked it right down. Damn pediatrician and their "she must give up the bottle by 15 months" rule. We've tried five different kinds with no success. *sigh*
