How much is an appropriate amount?

How much peanut butter should be left in the jar before it’s left on the counter to signify, “we’re almost out” or just tossed in the trash? I pulled this jar of Jiff Extra Crunchy out of the cupboard to find that Kurt left this much:

Crunchy peanut better

It’s not even enough to very lightly cover a half a slice of small bread. At least we still have the creamy peanut butter, which in the house is generally considered only suitable for a diaper.

Using the red spatula, you can easily can one or two more pieces of toast from that. 18 years of throwing away that much peanut butter could pay for Sophia’s college education!

*giggle* I hate to say it, Erica, but I agree with Kurt. Use the spatula. There is more than enough peanut butter there to kill me. *hides her inhaler*

There should at least be a back up jar waiting for as little peanut butter as that.

no amount is appropriate…i HATE peanut butter LOL only if it’s w chocolate & sometimes not even then. why do people feel the need to eat it w a big spoon straight out of the jar? yuck. LOL we do keep peanut butter here, but no one likes it crunchy.
