It’s not right to force underage girls to marry, however that doesn’t go hand in hand with polygamy any more than abuse is the accepted norm for Catholics who don’t believe in divorce. Utah wasn’t made a state until the Mormon Church officially swore off polygamy. How can the United States claim freedom of religion?

ciara – hehehe I’m not Mormon but this is rather close to me because some of my ancestors were the first Mormon converts from England and they actually had multiple wives. So it bugs me that the current Mormon church rejects those that practice polygamy as “not real Mormons” and even worse that non-Mormons assume all polygamist marriages are with under aged girls or forced.
Thought provoking 55, not just for the polygamy issue, but religion in general. Freedom of ‘accepted’ religion would be more like it, huh?
