Everything creates a learning opportunity for a toddler from taking things apart in order to learn the inner workings to watching mom and dad. In this case, congested Sophia applied knowledge gained from Dad’s constant sinus infections. Our mimicking little monkey learned to blow her own nose today, granted she doesn’t blow quite hard enough.

Great 55. Reminds me of all the things I enjoyed watching my kids learn that we took for granted.

Dr. John – If you remember them learning these sorts of things then I don’t think it was really taken for granted.

G-Man – Thanks, Sophia is running a muck again so I think she’s all over her cold. I caught it from her, so I wasn’t much help on Friday. I am making the rounds today though.

What a smart girl! My teenage son still doesn’t do it right. Don’t ask what he does instead.

Alice Audrey – let’s see, teenage son…he either still sucks it in or does what I call the ‘farmer-style’ nose blow where he holds one nostril closed and blows the other side out onto the ground. Am I close?

It’s a difficult thing to teach a child so well done to you and your little one!

Akelamalu – I wish I could take credit for it, but she learned it all on her own by watching. She’s a smart little cookie.

lime – Yep, unfortunately it is an important skill. Hopefully she’ll improve it quickly. Right now we got her to blow her nose but it doesn’t all get on the paper and then she refuses to let us wipe her face.
