I forgot a word

In my last post about Sophia’s new words, I actually forgot one. I think she’s been reading my blog because she made sure to remind me yesterday. I was quickly tossing the dirty diapers in the trashcan outside and left the front door ajar so that Sophia didn’t pitch a fit that she couldn’t come see me if she chose. On the way back, I saw her standing in the doorway in her PJs, “Coh” she said. At first it didn’t register with me. “Coh, coh,” she said pointing to the frosty morning air.

“Yes, very cold!” I told her.

The first time I hear her say that was probably three weeks ago when I pulled out a package of cheese sticks from the freezer in the garage to put in the refrigerator. She wanted to carry them up, so I handed them to her. “Coh!” she said. That brings us up to thirty words at twenty-six months.

Yay, for “Coh”! Talk about a “sensory” experience! Yay, Sophia! ;)

Lori Wight – oh I know! I was expecting her to get upset when I handed her the frozen cheese, but no, she merely agreed that they were indeed “coh”. LOL ;-)

I love the “first words”. Many of the “first words” that Aila, Marina and Quentin spoke are in our everyday conversations; even Aaron uses them. We will go to the grocery store and he asks me if I want “Bop-o’s” (apples) or if either of us are “gick” (sick), we repeat it several times…I’m so gick, gick, gick. There’s also “hunky” for hungry.
The ironic thing is that now that Aila is older, she just gives us a total eye roll when we use these words. You can just tell that she’s completely disgusted with it. Whereas, Quentin thinks it’s funny and smiles when he hears us say these things. It’s like at a certain age we “put away childish things”…WHY is that? *sign*

Lori Wight – I have a new favorite from Sophia. She now says, “sticky”. She means stinky, but uumm sometimes both words may apply. :P

I’m so glad I have a blog. I can store a whole host of things to torture Sophia with once she “puts away childish things”. LOL

I’m coh! It was rainy and grey all day, and I had to be out in it. Where is Sophia when I need a weather update? (She can fix it, can’t she?)

That was sweet. I have to strained my ears at time to listen to what my nephews were trying to say when they first started talking. :)
